Signature Kota Doria Khat Weave

Kota Doria (or Kota Doriya) sarees originate from Kaithoon near Kota in Rajasthan. The fabric is famous for its unique checkered weave pattern, called 'khats'. These checks are woven using a combination of strong cotton yarns for durability and fine silk yarns for a soft, natural shine.

Hand Block Motifs on Kota Doria

Our Kota Doria sarees are printed using hand-carved wooden blocks. Local craftsmen apply classic Bagru and Dabu block motifs using natural vegetable dyes. The paint sits beautifully on the checkered grid, creating a textured print look unique to this weave.

Perfect for Summer Drape

The open, checkered grid makes Kota Doria one of the most breathable and lightweight Indian fabrics. It stands slightly crisp, giving you a clean, elegant silhouette that does not cling to the body in hot weather, making it excellent for daily office and daytime wear.

Care and Maintenance

To preserve the delicate khat grid and natural dye prints, wash your Kota Doria saree gently by hand in cold water with mild soap. Do not wring or scrub. Dry in the shade. Iron on low heat using a thin cotton cloth as a barrier to prevent damage to the silk yarns.
